Frequency Analyzer

Play a gong, a bowl, a voice or a string near your microphone and see the tones in its sound.

Listen

Shows the strongest tones in the sound.

Press Start listening, then play or strike the instrument.

Two tones closer than about 6 Hz show as one. A gong changes in the seconds after a strike, so the list changes too.

Sound level
No sound

Before you start

  1. Allow the microphone when your browser asks.
  2. Play one instrument at a time, in a quiet room. A fan or traffic shows up as a tone too.
  3. If the sound level stays very quiet, move closer to the microphone.

Leave this as it is unless you have more than one microphone.
